Question:

Poisonous Spider Bite?

I have a red, itchy swollen area about the size of a quarter below my knee. I first noticed it 3 days ago, and it continues to get worse. I live in the Northern Kentucky area, if that helps. The leg that was bitten is also considerably bigger than the other leg, due to swelling. Does anyone know what the bite might be from and if it is poisonous?

  1. If the leg is considerably bigger, and it's still there three days later, I would head on into an ER. Too tough to tell without seeing it in person. But the ER would be a good thing to do, since it's not getting any better.

  2. Do you know if it was a spider? Insect and spider bites can often cause minor swelling, redness, pain, and itching. These mild reactions are common and may last from a few hours to a few days.Try some Oral antihistamines they can help relieve swelling. If it develops a blister of an open sore see a DR. ASAP. If your leg is considerably swollen I would go ahead and seek medical care soon as possible.
