  1. the only spiders you would need to worry about in the US is the black widow and the fiddle back or brown recluse. the black widow is only deadly to people who are either very skinny or children because their bodies are small and usually have high metabolisms that process the poison fast enough to make it deadly. a grown adult at a healthy body weight will normally only get sick from the black widow bite. the brown recluse however is very deadly, its bite will if left untreated kill you. I know a woman who was bitten and treated so this is what happened to her. she felt the pinch of the bite, saw a spider but didn't know what kind, went to take a shower, felt dissy and nauoses, got and looked at her back and saw that about an inch of skin all around the bite was blood red, went to the doctor and was told she was lucky she came in when she had. and was left with a large bruise for five years and lifetime joint pain. as for your dog. I wouldn't worry to much, spiders bitting dogs isn't that common, and unless your dog is very short haired you probably shouldn't worry about the bites getting through the fur.

  2. I think it is pretty rare for a human to die from a spider bite.

Unless you live in Australia, then you are likely to get bit by a funnel web spider and dies screaming. As far as dogs, yes very possible especially if the dog is small.

  3. Okay, calm down, it's okay.

A spider CAN kill you, but don't worry, it is very unlikey. You won't die right on the spot either. You'll probably have a couple of hours.

Plus, black widows aren't known to come up out of nowhere and go biting people and dogs, because they are actually more scared of you than you are of them.

Just don't go poking around in rocks and dark places. They will NOT kill you in your sleep. I promise.

    I hope I didn't scare you. =)
