I heard from more than one source that there are two Poisonous spiders in GA, The brown recluse, and the black widow. But yesterday i saw 3 black widows in my back yard. ????? If there are only two in all of Ga, Then how come there were 3 in my own back yard. i took a picture and sent it to some biology specialist, but they wont reply! Some one tell me how this is so. should i go and caught them for science sake.

  1. Is this a serious question?

I think they meant two KINDS of poisonous spiders, not JUST two of them. That being said, there could be 20,000,000 black widows on two acres of land.

And if I were you, I'd kill them. I hate to kill any living thing but I have kids and a bite from a black widow near the head or neck can be fatal in a child or even a small adult. A bite from a brown recluse can also be fatal and even if it isn't, the tissue around the bite becomes necrotic (dies) and falls off, causing terrible scars and sometimes open wounds that won't heal.

  2. All spiders are poisonous. But not all are lethal.

  3. Given that GA is a state, it is impossible for there to be only 2 venomous spiders. They meant 2 types, species of spiders that were deadly venomous. Also, no spiders are poisonous, all are venomous.

  4. yes go catch them then let them crawl on you and let us know if they really are poisonous

  5. thats 2 SPECIES of venomous spiders... not 2 actual spiders..

There are literally MILLIONS of Black Widow spiders all across the Southern U.S.

No, you should NOT catch them. Black widow bites are one of the most painful things you will ever endure in a lifetime, and you should NOT tempt fate by trying to catch one....
