Pokemon Emerald/Sapphire/Ruby battle on DS?

Question

I was wondering if I can battle my bro. if he has Sapphire and I have Emerald,but on the DS,instead of the GBA?? (I would like to know if this can apply to LeafGreen and FireRed)

Sorry, but you can't.

To trade or battle on any of the GBA games, you have to have a connector cord, which isn't able to be used on the DS.

The only way if you want to battle on those games is to battle using two GBAs connected with the cord or two wireless connectors in the cord slot.

For pokemon games meant for the DS like diamond and pearl, they have wireless and WiFi setting built in the game, while GBA games don't.

Unfortunatly you will not be able to battle using the GBA slot on the DS.

Any Pokémon game that uses the GBA slot will not be able to utilize the wireless communication used by the DS and so are unable to link to battle or trade.
