What are the best pokemon to get in both games?

That's a matter of opinion. Personally I like having all the starters, and the Lucario in Time. A good pokemon to have on your team is either Psyduck/Golduck or Castform. Castform can change the weather, so you can always make the weather more favorable for you. Psyduck and/or Golduck are good because they keep the weather clear no matter what with their Cloud Nine ability and they prevent explosions from happening, stopping those traps and Pokemon with the Aftermath ability and pokemon that know Selfdestruct or Explosion from using it. That's a helpful ability because, then you don't lost health, and you don't lose items that could possibly get caught in the blast. I really find it annoying when a Skuntank drops a Treasure Chest but then blows it up with the Aftermath ability. So I really like Golduck. You can also get all the legendaries. That's my opinion.
