Pokemon cards etc?

Question

I was certain that the Pokemon craze had died out completely in the UK, until I saw someone talking about it. Is anywhere actually selling Pokemon cards anymore? I just remember it from when I was little! Is there still a Pokemon thing going on in this country or has it just faded? Does it stil have the same popularity in other countries, such as Japan?

Contrary to what some folks may believe, Pokemon is once again on the rise.  I run a weekly league in a suburb of Dallas, TX, and we have seen our weekly attendance rise from the mid-20s to the mid-70s in less than a year.  On top of that, the U.S. National Championship (held just a couple of weeks ago) recorded over 1000 entrants in all age groups.  And it is crazy popular in Japan.  Check out Tego's posts on the Pokegym (www.pokegym.net), as he spent some time in Japan recently and chronicled the Pokemon craze he encountered.  The introduction of the latest generation of Pokemon (Diamond & Pearl) has really helped to fuel interest in both th video game and card games.  Check out NIntendo's official Pokemon site for more info.
