Pokemon diamond EV training help?

right, so my problem is my defence form deoxys isnt gaining the amount of evs i want im trying to max its hp but it goes up normal is there certain levels in which it doesnt show or just cant happen . iknow its not maxed because im new to this and i have got the hp power thingy so can some1 help because im stressin out here

Firstly, it could be that your Deoxys' EVs have already been maxed out when you got it. A pokemon can only have up to 255 EVs for a particular stat and it can have up to 510 EVs in all (that's what I remember). From what I know, that HP power thing gives 4 HP EVs when you defeat a pokemon, including the EVs you get from that pokemon.

Secondly, your pokemon shouldn't be getting too much stats when you level up. It's stats will gradually increase until it gets to level 100, then all it's EVs are...erm, absorbed. Sometimes, your pokemon could get like 5 or 6 ups for one stat on a level up, and that's a lot.

When all it's EVs are used (you gave it 510 EVs), you don't need to keep that HP power thingy on him any longer, he has the EVs already.

For every 4 EVs your pokemon has for a stat, it's supposed to get 1 stat up when you level it up, but that happens at level 100.
