Pokemon diamond question (DS)?

im trying to catch mesprit i got his HP to red now i tried like 50 ultra balls and i even tried to use golbats mean look but he always runs. can you give me some tips. and i havent beat the elite four. so if i beat it then ok.

i have mesprit on diamond and pearl and all i did was get its hp pretty low. on pearl i caught it with a poke ball i also prevented it from running.

personaly i woyuldent even catch that pokemon bvut if you want it use stuff like hypnoses and sing to put it asleep then poison it and do small attacks to get the hp low and if ur lukey frezze it garinted to catch it

get a trapinch and you can cath him cause of trapinchs special effect, areana trap or somthin like that then get nest balls it will take 3-5 nest balls!!!!my friend, me and alot other people did it and it worked

Try and prevent it from running, use a Pokemon with Mean Look, or a fast one that can put it to sleep.

after u use mean look, do not switch out ur golbat! i suggest u to inflict a special condition on it. i cant tell which works better, cuz, believe it or not, i caught it with a single pokeball without even attacking him once (i threw 1 pokeball for fun, didnt expect i could catch it lol) if ultra balls dont work, try pokeballs (i know it sounds stupid, but i think pokeball catch rate is better, since i caught all my legendaries with less than 10 pokeballs), or dusk balls at night.
