Like i said before, pokemon which can learn multiple types of attacks are helpful.

Umm ghost type pokemon are excellent and come in handy a lot. You should also keep a good ground/rock type pokemon. They're really good for strength and defense. And at least on flying type pokemon. They come in handy when you get lost ;)
