Pokemon leaf green glitches?

i have exactly the same problem, and i'm glad other people do too because that means there's nothing wrong with my console or the individual copy of the game. i actually bought two copies off ebay, both with the 'E' rating (meaning they're the region-free copies) - i bought the second one because i thought the first one was damaged. but it turns out it's just the game that is screwed up. my friend used to have pokemon leafgreen - the AU copy - and he played all the way through with no problems, so i may have to buy the genuine AU copy rather than the cheap E copy. if you have a bugged copy, there's nothing you can really do about it except trade with a friend who has a pokemon that knows cut so u don't have to get it off the captain on the ship.

Same problem here with the S.S. Anne. I hope someone knows what to do, If I cant get cut I might as well not bother playing the game anymore :'(

I don't know if this is a glitch or a really bad lag in the game, but I have no idea how to fix it or get past it. When I try to go up to the Captain on the S.S. Anne, the screen turns red and then the game freezes up. Need help, any hints??
