Pokemon pearl- why won't my cheat work?

Question

I'm trying to use that cheat where you have master balls, and then subract a certain amount to get the number of a pokemon in the national pokedex, you walk in the grass, and the pokemon you want pops up. i'm doing everything right. tossing out the right amount, pressing L in the grass. Why won't it work?

I Agree With Emo Girl... There Have Been Ridiculous Rumours About Cheats On Pokemon, I Spose The Only Common Way To Cheat on Pokemon Is With Action Replay, Unless It's A Gltch... The Games Weren't Designed For Cheats Without The Use Of Action Replay For Example

I don't know... That's strange.... When I was younger, and I'd play Pokemon, my cheats worked! Hmmmm... maybe you should call the makers of Pokemon?

if your using action replay it should work

but could be fake

their is already a master ball cheat that comes with the action replay

if not try updating your action replay
