i want to know if there are any city champion ship's within sydney australia?, also wat is the differences from a city champion, tournament or league

Great questions!  Typically, a "League" is just for casual play - there is no strict format, you can play as many games as you like, you can use any card from any expansion set (retired or current format), and there are prizes based on points you earn (League-exclusive booster packs, holographic cards, League Badges, etc.).  You can find leagues local to your area at the Pokemon Organized Play (OP) website (http://www.op.pokemon-tcg.com/league/loc...

Tournaments usually have stricter formats (typically Modified format, cards must be from more recent releases - current Modified format is Diamond & Pearl on), and award winners with more prizes (booster packs, winners cards, etc.).  Tournaments usually consist of a certain amount of Swiss rounds (depending on the number of participants), followed by a single-elimination top cut.  Tournaments range from small weekly events held following leagues, through City, State, Regional, National and World Championships.  Again, you can check on the Pokemon OP website to find tournaments in your area (http://www.op.pokemon-tcg.com/tournament...  While I didn't see any in Sydney proper, there are several City Championships and Battle Roads coming up in Australia.
