If you need a decent pokemon, then train. If there is a certain type or pokemon you need ask in pokemon forums. They have members willing to trade anything. I bet your looking for a strong pokemon to beat your opponent. Well if it is an in-game trainer look at the type and train the pokemon which are stronger than that type. Some pokemon can learn different type of moves. Raichu can learn Iron Tail, a steel type, Rock Smash ( i think) , a fighting type.
