Pokemon- wifi trouble- not a battle?

i cant connect to my wifi so i can get on GTS and trade, it says i need to have a WEP security connection, but i have a WPS or something. Is there anyway i can chose or change my security connection? But my dad is going to buy a new router because ours sucks. Would there be any way i can chose my security connection? Is there a difference in the each security besides the name?

WPS provides more security but less compatibility, while WEP provides and teency less security is compatible with virtually everything.

In order the choose your security connection, you may have to log on to your routers site and go to security and change the encryption settings to WEP if you have WPS.
