whats ur worst beat in poker? i went to my first tournament the other day, since i only recently tuerned 18, and my bad beat was when i had pocket aces. and someone went all in before the flop, so i called, and the flop came up with the highest card being a jack, someone else went all in so i called, and they showed their pocket 10s and pocket 9s. the turn came up and hit nobody, and then the river came up a 9....

  1. In regular poker, I once lost a few hundred on a betting and reraising fiasco holding 5 queens to 5 kings. Course it was with wilds.

  2. Here's one: I call pre-flop with Q-10 suited, and one other person calls.

The flop is A-8-3, I flopped the flush.

    He bets.  I call.

Turn is a 9 of a different suit.

    He bets. I call.

    River is a 9.

He bets. I raise. He reraises. I call.

He turns over 9-8 (a full house)

Maybe I got greedy by trying to suck out a couple extra bets.

  3. I always get sucked out on when the river hits because a lot of times I try to make too many fancy traps.  There's a fine line between making great plays, and those that let your opponents hit 3-outers regularly that drive me nuts!

  4. I raised from the BB with AA and the only caller was the button. Flop came A of hearts, another Ace and junk.

I bet my quads and was reraised All In-I called. The other player had QJ of hearts. Turn K of hearts-river 10 of hearts.

My quads were beaten by a runner runner royal.

  5. I have pocket Ks and make a big opening bet preflop, about 5x bb.  Guy 2 seats behind me raises the pot, everyone else folds, I reraise him all-in.  He turns over the other 2 Ks.  (Can you guess what's coming...?)

Bottom line, the board 4-flushes on the river and I have the suited K.  I've never felt so bad about winning a hand.  I actually asked the floor guy if we could split the pot but we had to go by tournament rules.

    I guess it could've been worse--it could've been me!

  6. That's not that bad.  I've seen much worse things happen.

Discounting my quad 3s getting beat by quad 7s, I think my worst bad beat would have to be an Omaha Hi/Lo hand.

    My hand: As2c3s3c

    Flop Qs 3h 4s

At this point, I have bottom set, a nut low draw, a straight draw AND and nut flush draw.  Altogether, I had 16 outs to secure the high and 12 (minus 4 because of the 5, 6, 7 and 8 of spades outs to secure the low.  That's 26 outs altogether.  I check, and my opponent bets the pot.  I call, fearing trip Qs or possibly trip 4s.

    The turn: Jd

No help, but 26 outs is hard to ignore.  I call another pot sized bet.

    River: Ah

No low, just bottom set.  By this time I'm so committed I call my opponent's all in (I have him covered).

    Opponent turns over:

    Qd9hKc7d

A straight.  I lose the whole pot.

Worst part was, I was ahead the whole time.  My opponent was betting the pot with top pair K kicker on the flop.

  7. I'm a poker dealer at a charity poker room in Michigan

This story is NO LIE and probably the worst beat(s) ever

I don't exactly remember what the community was,

but there were 5 people all in during a cash game and the pot was over 1000 easy

Everyone in the hand thought they won it

    In order, the hands were:

    STRAIGHT beaten by

    HIGHER STRAIGHT beaten by

    FLUSH beaten by

    NUT FLUSH beaten by

    QUADS beaten by

    STRAIGHT FLUSH

    worst thing Ive ever seen
