ok, heres my question, 2 people have the same hand. Flush ace high. but one has a queen, the other a 10. Do they split the pot because they both have flush ace high, or do you go to the next card???? I always thought it was split at that point.

split pot, same hand, ace high flush

doesn't matter if there were community cards or not.  You only split the pot with the exact same 5 card hand.  A-Q high flush is better than A-10 high flush

They go to the next high card.And then the next and the next and the next.

If the board has 8 j q k a of the same suit that would give everyone an ace high flush but if I held the 9 in that suit I would win.

No it was just an example that they go to the last card.
