Poker Question.?

i've been playing poker for awhile and people have their different opinions on how to play. my question is if there is a "higher suit"? i've researched it for hours and it says there aren't, but those that i play with say that there is a higher suit, one says it's heart and the other says it's spade.

please please help me out. i would very much appreciate it :]

  1. In  stud games with a bring-in bet, the suits absolutely matter.  In those instances, the ranking from high to low is Spade, Heart, Diamond, Club.  An easy way to remember the order is alphabetically but backwards.  Also when dealing high card for the button at the beginning of a game, when two people get dealt the same high card, the suit will come into play then.  For example, if someone is dealt the Ace of spades and soeone else gets the Ace of clubs, the spade guy will get the button.

    But when it come to showing down a hand, the suits are meaningless.  Like someone said, royal flush in hearts splits the pot with royal flush in spades.


  2. I know this to be 100% that the highest suite is the spade followed by heart, diamond and last club...

  3. Suits don't matter in poker.

    If you were playing a form of poker where two different flushes are possible like draw or stud, then if two players get a Royal Flush, the pot is split, they don't award the pot to the person with a Royal Flush of Spades.
