is it better to learn different type of poker games to improve your play? I've been playing no limit holdem for awhile and try to improve as much as possible, recently i switch to omaha and try to learn others as well, such as horse, but it only get worst, should I just keep sticking to what I know (no limit holdem), Is there anyone who actually only play holdem and nothing else and succeed at it. Is it a bad idea to only play at one type of poker? Other than no limit I can't play anything else and I was wondering if anyone have the same problems?

  1. There is nothing wrong with playing just one variation of poker.  Phil Helmuth Jr. is almost exclusively a no limit hold'em tournament guy.  He can play other stuff, but it is pretty clear what his forte is.  Other players suggest learning lots of games.  So it's really up to you.  HORSE is pretty advanced because it includes five different games.  So you have to decide what is right for you.  Some players try to master just one game, others try to understand more.

  2. I play only holdem for real money but play other variations for free money or freerolls just tp practice. I think if you learn more than one variation you will ultimately become a better holdem player....just my thoughts...for free poker bankrolls you can go here: http://www.winpokercash.com

  3. I can really recommend this free ebook titled "How to make a living playing poker online". I've learned so much from it, things I haven't found anywhere else.
