Poker or Chess - Which is geekier?

Question

My friend and I were having this argument over whether poker or chess was geekier. He was convinced that poker was geekier than chess, but I thought exactly the opposite. When I think of people playing poker I think of gambling vegas guys or maybe even drunk guys and chicks, but when it comes to chess i think of old men with beards and nerds with glasses playing it. So chess is geekier right?

Oh, please!!!! i'm a chess player (i mean, tournament player.)  and i'm not a nerd, and i'm just 15 and i love this game! i can say Chess is a really cool game (though it requires a lot of analysis)! plus, it improves my logic....! Chess is totally not a geeky game---or whatever you call it!

This is the first I've ever heard of poker being geeky.  There's plenty of strategy and thinking though or should I say there should be :)  Chess is cool but has never been considered that way and brings up images of boy wonder with black rimmed glasses playing some Russian guy who doesn't get out of the house much :)  Chess is a better game but it's hard to make money at it though :)

i reckon chess is way geekier cause chess requires stargety and hard thinking, you have to concertate so much in it when poker just relaxing game, fun exciting, expeccially strip poker with ladies =)

Poker isn't considered geeky by most. Its quite a buzz if you play it for money. Chess is still a good game but unfortunately it is categorized by a lot of people as geeky. But then the world is full of sheep. Ba-ah!!

Oh yeah. Chess is way geekier. Poker is middle aged fit men (like James Bond) acting very sophisticated and betting millions of dollars. Or for me, it is a 15 year old girl playing poker online. xP
