Pokfulham hot favourite for Prestige Scotland Handicap
Pokfulham is hot favourite for the Prestige Scotland Handicap at Hamilton in England on Thursday, June 7, 2012. The winner of the class-5 event will walk away with a cash prize of £3,235.
The going will be good to firm in the 1 mile, 5 furlong and 9 yard event, which is scheduled to start at 16:30 GMT. A total of five runners have been attracted towards it and their names are as follows: La Bacouetteuse, Pokfulham, Cadgers Brig, Damascus
Symphony and Dynamic Drive.
Although the competition is expected to be quite a tough one today, the best chances of victory are with Pokfulham, who has got plenty of experience. Moreover, he has been performing brilliantly over the past few events, which will encourage the punters
to risk money on him.
The six-year-old gelding has taken part in 46 races until now, winning six of them. In addition to that, he has also secured the runner up spot on the same number of times whereas finished third on 10 times.
The Jim Goldie’s trainee performed exceptionally in his most recent outing, as he finished on top of the table in it. Despite not being the favourite back then, he did a fabulous job and won by a couple of lengths. This shows that he is carrying an excellent
momentum right now and it will be hard to stop him from fight at the front today.
Pokfulham will be partnered by seasoned jockey, Daniel Tudhope, who has won quite a few races at this level. However, he has a poor strike rate, which shows that he is not a consistent performer.
Another runner, who has a solid chance of fighting for a victory at Hamilton, is La Bacouetteuse. He is in good form right now and might manage to attract a few bets in his favour.
The seven-year-old gelding has participated in 22 events until now, winning three of them and finishing runner up once. Moreover, he has also secured the third spot on five occasions, which proves that he is a fierce competitor.
The Iain Jardine’s trained runner finished fourth in his most recent race, but he will need an improved show in order to prevail today.
