Men’s national volleyball teams from Poland, Cuba, and Brazil have successfully reserved their seats in the Final Round of the 2012 FIVB World League.
Poland qualified for the Final Round from Pool B. Under the command of Italian born Head Coach Andrea Anastasi, Poland appeared in a total of 12 matches during the preliminary round-robin of the tournament. According to the set formula of the competition,
Poland played host to one leg of the preliminaries, while played rest of the matches away from home.
Be it at home or away, the Poles remained remarkably consistent and grabbed success. They dropped only two matches and finished the prelims with an overall record of 10-2. Poland bagged a total of 29 points and became the first team to join Bulgaria in the
Final Round of the 2012 FIVB World League.
In the Final Round, Poland has been placed in Pool F. The scheduled of Final Round matches will be disclosed after the completion of prelims.
Caribbean team from Cuba joined the Final Round from Pool A. The final leg of the Pool A prelims is still underway and Cuba is required to play one more match, which will complete the streak of 12 matches. Nonetheless, the team has already secured a spot
in the influential Final Round of the tournament. Cuba appeared in eleven matches and achieved 9-2 win/loss record. The Caribbean squad is counting on another win in the next match, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 30. Cuba will take on Japan
and has bright prospects to win the match. Victory will bring Cuba at the level of its arch-rival Poland that finished the prelims with 10-2 record. Cuba and Poland are likely to have a tough competition in Pool F of the Final Round.
After a long psychological wait, Brazil also qualified for the Final Round of 2012 FIVB World League. Brazilian team entered the competition alongside Poland, Canada, and Finland in the Pool B. Brazil fought for the top slot in Pool B, but Poland proved
to be detractor and pushed Brazil behind. Hence, Brazil finished as the second team in Pool B and waited for the completion of prelims in other pools. Eventually, Brazil emerged as the best-ranked second team in the pools and clinched the Final Round berth.
The Final Round of the 2012 FIVB World League is scheduled to take place from July 4-8 in Sofia, Bulgaria. A total of six teams will be on board to contest their skills and compete for the world title. Poland, Cuba, and Brazil will play in Pool F, whereas
