Poland’s Mariusz Wach to face Irish Kevin McBride – Boxing news
The Polish national Mariusz Wach will be facing Irish professional boxer Kevin McBride in their 10-round competitive bout on July 29, 2011 at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut.
The McBride vs. Wach fight card is presented by the Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment & Sports and Global Boxing.
Wach said, “I will be looking to make a statement in this fight that, not only am I here to make noise now but I’m here to take over the division. It’s not usual that a man I’m about to fight can stare at me in the eyes, but the more dangerous my opponent
is, the more dangerous I become.”
Mariusz ‘The Viking’ Wach has been an outstanding performer since he joined boxing as a profession. The 31-year-old, Wach is coming back to the ring after winning 24 of his consecutive fights. He has never been defeated by anyone in his career.
The Heavyweight contender, Wach turned professional winning first-round technical knockout decision against Dennis Melniks in 2005 at the OsiR in Swiebodzice, Poland. In his last bout, Wach won the vacant WBC Baltic Heavyweight Title scoring a third-round
knockout decision against Jonathan Haggler of the US in February 2011 at the Essex County College in Newark, New Jersey.
McBride is returning to the ring after being defeated by Tomasz Adamek in their 12-round bout on April 9, 2011 at the Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey. Kevin ‘The Clones Colossus’ McBride lost the IBF International Heavyweight and WBO, NABO Heavyweight
titles in the process.
The Heavyweight contender, McBride fought 45 of his total fights of which he won 35 competitive bouts including 29 knockout victories with 9 losses and one draw in his professional boxing career.
The Orthodox stance McBride faced the only draw of his career on his debut fighting against Gary Charlton in 1992 at the Broadway Theatre in Barking, London.
Hopefully, the competition between the two will be interesting and fascinating to watch.
