Poland’s Pawel Tarnowski wins 2011 RS:X Youth World Windsurfing Championship at Cagliari in Sardinia
Poland’s Pawel Tarnowski under sail number 182 put up a stunning presentation at Cagliari in the region of Sardinia to clinch the 2011 RS:X Youth World Windsurfing Championship boys fleet. The Polish windsurfer showed a great deal of enthusiasm on the final
day of the event and with the help of some convincing results on the board, he was able to hit the top spot by securing 14 points.
Boys’ fleet started the final day of the event at Sardinia under the wind peaking towards 19 knots with strong gusts around the race course on Cagliari waters. Looking at the conditions and thrill in the air, it seemed pretty obvious to spectators that the
race would be outstanding.
Tarnowski was on top of his performance in the competition. He clinched three race victories on the final day to stay on top of the standings with 14 points. Louis Giard of France hit the second spot in the standings after securing 25 points, while Great
Britain’s Sam Sills managed to grab third position with 38 points.
