Alaska used to be a huge tropical forest. That is the only reason there is oil there. And polar bears do need to survive because it will impact other species as well.

that was a statement.  you should be thanking mccain for such a choice for a running mate.  she has no experience, is a slave to corporate interest, and is completely divorced from reality.  she alienates most of the independant votes mccain had picked up and will result in a landslide victory for obama.  polin is the best choice for a democratic victory.
