call me stupid, but what will come of East and West? will they change?

im just curious.if its too easy of a question for certain people, please excuse me. huhuhu

  1. If it gets so that we can't tell up from down, then we have a problem.

  2. First off, the polar [magnetic] shift is not occuring on Earth, it's happening on the sun.  Earth's magnetic shift is far too erratic to predict, and probably won't happen for several more thousands (if not millions) of years.

Second, the solar shift occurs every 11 years, so don't worry about it.  And since the last shift occured in 2001, then the next one is expected in 2012.  There will also be a flip in 2023, 2034, 2045, etc. etc.

Third, yes, if the N-S magnetic poles shift, then so will the E-W.   However, please note that geographically N-S and E-W will stay the same.  IE, the sun will not suddenly revolve so that it is physically upside down.

NASA wrote a pretty good article that explains everything:

    The Sun Does A Flip

  3. uh ... i think when the north and the south ice melts then the east and west sides might get lots of water and flood?! or just go to...
