I found a Polaroid600 in a thrift store for 6$, and I was planning on getting it tomorrow and some film. After reading that they're going to discontinue the film as of 2009, I was wondering if I could still use the instant Fujifilm?

  1. enjoy it while you can. try to order as much as you can or ask around for extra film that people didn't use. i for one, sold my polaroid, and gave the film away to someone who needed it.

  2. Yes, Polaroid has stopped making polaroid film, but you can use instant fujifilm... for now...

  3. At present, FujiFilm only makes instant film for professional uses and that film will not fit into the 600 camera.

    Professional uses you ask?

Medium format and view cameras have adapters that can be used with certain instant film.  Passport cameras still use a special film made by Fujifilm and I am sure there are some other special applications that will be continued to be made by Fujifilm for at least a while ... in the end, the demand for instant film will define how long it all lasts ... that or environmental concerns.
