  1. Are you aware that Polaroid has stopped making the cameras and films?

Are you aware that one of the reasons is that each print costs $2 to $3 a pop? Even a cheap digital camera works better. This sort of novelty is over a long time ago.

  2. Even if you can find one you're going to have an even harder time finding film for it. Totally destroyed by the digital camera revolution.

Buy one if you want an antique conversation piece, but don't expect to be able to actually use it.

  3. Adorama still sells (new) the Polaroid One600.

Keh (Among a host of others) have collectible older editions (including the sx-70)

  4. Due to marketplace conditions, Polaroid has discontinued almost all of its instant analog hardware products. Polaroid has also made the difficult decision to cease manufacturing of instant film products in 2008

  5. GOOD LUCK! Kodak stopped manufacturing those things in like....1996.  If you can't find one on ebay, I think you're out of luck.

  6. While Polaroid has announced that they will be ceasing all instant film production, FujiFilm has re-affirmed their intent in continuing film production and replacing some of the Polaroid pack films.

They presently have a replacement (which I find registers colors far better) for the Type 100 film series of films (Type 669, Type 667, and Type 665).  They have even went so far as to ensure some of the more unique qualities of the film are still there (the ability to perform emulsion lifts and image transfers).

At this time, Fuji has not come out with whether or not they are planning to actually also make a replacement for the Type 600 integral instant film.  They presently are only going for the peel apart films.

If you want something that you can be positive that there will be film after the end of the year, I would go for a camera that uses the Fuji compatible film.  I've used quite a bit of Fuji's FP-100C, and I am very satisfied with its results.  I have a Polaroid LandCamera 210, 215, 230, and 440.  All of those use the pack film and work with the FujiFilm replacement.  I found them at thrift stores for between $3-$10.
