Polaroid wont come out of Standbye Mode

Question

I just bought a Polaroid 40" HDTV last night and it was working wonderfully all night but when my Roommate goes to turn it on this morning it turns itself on and then goes right into Stand-by mode. We have tryed every possible thing that we can think of but it wont come out of Stand-by mode, any suggestions here would be awesome
