How many metres does the athlete have to run on their take off with their pole? ASAP please :)

  1. There is no definite answer to the question. It depends very much on the athlete. They do not have enough power and momentum to take off if they are too near. If they are too far, they will be tired before they take off.


  2. As far as I know they can run up from what ever distance they want.

    'Most of the world’s best pole vaulters have in the last few years employed a run-up that is 36 to 42m long. This length allows the athlete to exploit his speed capacity and to accelerate smoothly.'
