I have never pole danced before but just recently lost weight about 30lbS AND would love to try pole fitness no where within 400kms of my town does it so on my holiday i am going to go and take a certification course which says no experience needed, however as im not buff (25% bodyfat) and i can hold my own weight pretty good and am decent strength (on vertical press at gym i do about 115lbs) i am still very nervous about this and how hard itll be and if ill do well or just not come close to passing the certification or remembering choreography etc... anyone experienced help?

  1. DO NOT simply go to your local mall or adult store to get a pole. They clearly state on the boxes that they are not intended to hold your body weight and they are simply meant to be danced around... not on.

If you want a good pole, you simply have to spend the money to know that you won't end up falling on your head or sending the pole through a window when it falls... there are some horrible videos out there of accidents on cheap poles. The only two poles I trust are lil mynx and x-pole, but the only remoable pole I trust is x-pole. You'll spend more money, but you'll be recieving a quality product that is SAFE. And that's really what's the most important.

I love dancing, I took several months of lessons, got my own pole and I now teach a few girls for profit. Adding that to my work out routine, I've lost 30lbs and really toned up. Find a good dvd or scout out the local dance studios for classes.

  2. i would say go to your local mall (im sure they have a spencers) or adult (scary i know) store and find a cheap pole to practice on and get a feel for some tricks and moves. Its what i did and i love it, and know i have tighter abs and everything gets toned. I eventually want to get a real one installed but until then a peak-a-boo pole works perfectly.
