Poles ready to challenge Belgian giant in 2012 CEV Challenge Cup – Volleyball news
Poland’s Tytan AZS CZESTOCHOWA will play on Wednesday against Belgium’s heavyweight Prefaxis MENEN for the semifinals of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup – Men.
The Polish team demonstrated spectacular show of volleyball in the quarter-finals and reserved a berth in the final four. Alongside Tytan AZS CZESTOCHOWA, Romania’s Tomis Constanta, Prefaxis MENEN of Belgium, and another Polish team Politechnika WARSZAWSKA
qualified for the semi-final stage.
Each team is supposed to appear in two matches in the semis. Two successful teams of the semifinals will earn the tickets to the final showdown of the 2012 CEV Men’s Volleyball Challenge Cup. The semifinals will be completed from March 14 to 17, while the
final and classification match for third position are likely to be held on March 27.
However, the Confederation European de Volleyball (CEV), the organising authority of the competition has not confirmed the dates yet.
The Head coach of Tytan, Kardos, and his team have thoroughly analyzed the performance of the Belgian team in the previous matches and they are quite confident to give a good competition to the resilient rival in the first round of the semi-finals.
Poland will have certain advantage in the match for being the host of the fixture. The Hala Polonia in CZESTOCHOWA will set up the field of play for the important match. The Polish team has great fan following and the sports arena has already been sold out.
Poles have a favourable position in the match and evidently want to profit of the home advantage. Next up, the Polish team will travel to Belgium for the return game but before that they are determined to bag one victory. The local heroes are additionally
encouraged by the fact that the head coach of the national team, Andrea Anastasi, is going to be there to watch the match. Hence, each player on the Polish team will positively try to show off his best.  
Tytan AZS CZESTOCHOWA faced off Portugal’s Fonte Bastardo AZORES, Spanish Unicaja ALMERIA and RENNES Volley 35 of France in the previous rounds of the tournament, and the guys around head coach Marek Kardos are enjoying a top form. They are tipped to advance
to the final phase of the competition which may turn into an all-Polish competition with Politechnika WARSZAWSKA that is playing Romania’s Tomis CONSTANTA in the second semi-final match.
