What type of police car do you drive? (Make, Model, and Colour)

Does your police car have a barrier separating the front and back seats? If so what kind is it? (Metal, plexiglass, ect) Does it have a hole in it?

Do you have a shotgun in the car? If so where is it? Is it locked?

Is your car equipt with a MDT?

  1. Two kinds both in our city colors of blue and white, Ford Crown Vic (easier to jump out of) and Chevy Mailbu (more maneuverable but hard to get out of in an emergency).

I'm a supervisor so not barriers. Regular patrol has combo of Plexiglas movable windows and metal cage with metal along the back of the front seat. Back seats on cage cars, as we call them, are fiberglass. Easy clean up, harder to hide stuff and much more leg room to get people in and out.

No long guns in regular squads in my town.

Every car has an MDT some have P(portable) DT originally designed to take with you out of the car to a paper job for report writing, never worked out well.

  2. Ford CVPI  (Crown Victoria Police Interceptor)

Some do  and some don't.. Both metal and a plastic/fiberglass composite with a sliding window.

Yes and an AR15 both mounted between driver and passenger seats. They sure are.

All cars have computer docks and each officer has his own computer to plug into it.

  3. Ford CVPI

Yes. Both metal and a polycarbonate composite with a sliding window.

Mounted between driver and passenger seats. It sure is.

    Yep.

  4. Cadillac Fleetwood brougham

  5. in my agency we have ford CVPI, Chevy Impala PI, and Ford Explorer for our SRT unit..un marked.. the other vehilcles are white with blue decals ..cage (plexi and metal both), no MDT..we do it thru dispatch, which sucks!

  6. Black Chevy Impala

    Barrier of steel and plexiglass

    Shotgun and AR-15

Most have laptops. Mine doesn't and I prefer it that way.

  7. Chevy Impala, Metal barrier with a holes behind the front passenger seat. shot gum mounted on cage behind the officers head, with power lock

  8. I have a white 2006 Ford Crown Vic.  It is white in color w/ blue badges and lettering, and a red and blue light bar.  I have a Havis Shield K9 kennel (like the one in the link) in the back where the seat used to be.  My K9 has access to the front of the car through a sliding door in between the front sears.  I don't have a shotgun, but do have a MDT.
