Police Reports In System?

How long do they stay in the system? Like a hit and run, isnt it one year? i have a bet with my buddy, thanks

  1. If you just mean the police report of an unknown hit and run, it depends on the agencies retention period. Several years, at any rate. Since they're pretty much all computer stored, it will really exist somewhere essentially forever, but that doesn't mean it will be retrievable without a lot of work after ten years or so.  


  2. a hit and run you are charged felony and will go to jail 4 to 7 years and the report will be placed in you record forever.

  3. Rest of your life if your poor if your rich when you pay a judge.

  4. Well, if you told your buddy that it never goes away, then you win!  If not, well, you lost.  Seriously, it doesn't matter what kind of record you have, it is in the system, EXCEPT juvenile.  Access is very limited to juvenile records, no matter what.
