  1. I like the other answers and would agree with almost all of it.

However, one additional touch I've been using for a few years is a leaf blower.  No matter how well you clean and/or vacuum the inside of a cop car, there's still going to be stuff in places you can't get to.  Take a leaf blower to the inside of one of those cars after it's been cleaned and you'll be surprised how much more c**p comes out...especially from under the dashboard.

Just make sure all the loose stuff is taken out of the car first.

  2. Make sure you rub the seats and carpeting with a good dose of baking soda, and vacuum thoroughly. Especially the rear seat, considering some of the stuff that goes on back there I'm sure the cops will appreciate you freshening it up.

  3. Any regular car cleaning products are fine. Vacuum the heck out of the cars, and get into the nooks and crannies especially by the radio and lights box.  Air freshener would be nice!  Police cars get really nasty.  Oh, and make sure the radio and such is off before you do anything to it!  Would hate for you to set off the emergency alert!  Don't touch anything you shouldn't if its left in the car (shotgun, beanbag gun, etc.)

  4. To go along with the answers above-

-Wear gloves, especially in the back seat. Also don't stick your hands into any crevices without looking first, since you never know what someone has stuck in there.

-If the cars have vinyl rear seats ask for some disinfecting spray (you may want to ask your local EMS agency for some of the good stuff)

-Tooth brushes work very nice for cleaning small cracks/grooves

-Wipe the dash, console, etc with a damp cloth then Armorall when dry (NOTE: DON'T use it on the steering wheel! or radio mics)

-As a final step for any cloth areas such as front seats, headliners, carpet, etc spray with Febreeze and allow to air dry with the doors open.
