Police claim assaulted man at Zach Randolph’s home was invited to sell drugs - NBA Update
There has been considerable development over the recent case involving Zach Randolph. Just when everyone wanted to believe that Zach was true to his word when he had claimed to have become a more mature and responsible person,
this story has once again cast a shadow of doubt over the power forward’s assertion.
The person, who was allegedly beaten with pool cues during a party at Randolph’s house, stated that he had been invited by Zach to sell Marijuana at his home.
A Southeast Portland man, going by the name of James Ruben Beasley, was beaten up by multiple people at Randolph’s house. The incident is said to have taken place at 4 am in the morning. The police arrived on the scene the next
day with a search warrant to enter Randolph’s home.
Beasley stated that he was invited by the Grizzlies star man to come and sell marijuana at his home during the after party. Randolph got to know Beasley after they met on a cruise on Friday. Zach then invited him over to his after-party
where the events unfolded.
“Mr. Beasley said four to seven people jumped him and beat him bloody with pool cues,” said Sgt. James Rhodes, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
However, Beasley reportedly has stated that Rudolph himself was not involved in the assault and hence no charges have been filed against him as of yet. This is not the first law related issue; Randolph has been associated with
in the recent past. Another incident happened a year ago when Zach was arrested for having drugs in his car. He escaped charges back then as well.
Some other incidents involving Randolph include sucker punching a teammate at practice, pleading guilty to receiving weapons that were stolen, being arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, and being implicated in an incident involving
drugs.
Recently, Randolph explained that his reputation had been tarnished and things were not how they actually seemed. "I feel like I’ve been misunderstood," Randolph said. "People talk in this league. People who don’t know you hear
something and go with it."
The news has certainly come about as quite shocking, especially after the power forward led the Grizzlies from the front and his amazing performances helped them beat the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the Western Conference
playoffs. He scored an average of 20.1 points and 12.2 rebounds; per game.
He was recently re signed by the Grizzlies on a four year contract, which will pay him $70 million. Zach has certainly been in the form of his life of late and it would be extremely disheartening for the fans if he ended up ruining
everything.
