Police from another country travelling?

If a police officer came from one country and travelled say on a trip to the dominican, and he seen you snorting cocaine or doing something illegal. Could he intervene?

  1. No, completely of of jurisdiction. And trust me, when a LEO is on vacation, we're on VACATION. Unless possibly a life or death situation.


  2. A sworn peace officer, traveling in a foreign country, has the same private person's rights of arrest that are afforded to any other civilian by that country. His peace officer status is not recognized unless he is actively investigating a case in conjunction with local authorities and then it is only a courtesy recognition of his status.

  3. Nope he is out of jurisdiction.  He cannot enforce any law out of his country or jurisdiction area.
