Police fundraising calls harassing me?

Unknown caller and number pops up and they usually just hang up. Today they answered and claimed to be MPI from my counties police department (I checked the local police website and there is nothing about this group). I've talked to them before and asked them to send something in the mail and please do not call. They keep calling. I have little children and it disrupts everything. Tonight I begged them to take me off the list (politely) and he just hung up on me.

What do I do? I cannot find the company listed anywhere, and there is no number listed. I'm on the do not call list.

Anything else I can do?

Let the answering machine p/u unknown calls. Letting your local police know about it as well. Also, if you have to you can change your number. It's so annoying!

I called our local police department to ask about those types of calls. They informed me that they do not do fund raisers like that and that the callers are NOT part of the police department.  So, I just tell them "No," and hang up.

We get those all the time.  We ask if they are actually police...........nope, not even in our area.  We then hang up.
