I got a ticket for speeding (which I was and I'm not trying to fight that). He checked the box that said "workers present" when there were not but also wrote an amount without workers being present. The regular amount he wrote is $186.50 but with workers present it jumps to $276 which the court is trying to make me pay. Since there were not workers present and I believe he checked it by mistake (he wrote down the right amount!!) what can I do?

  1. Go before the judge.  Plead your case.  If the officer is present, he can corroborate what you're saying.  If he doesn't show up, you likely have the ticket dismissed.

  2. That gets you out of the ticket completely. Be happy and rejoice.

  3. make a copy of the ticket and go to court and show them and if they took the ticket you will have a copy for your refrence

  4. I once had an officer add 30 pounds to the weight stated on my license.  I still had to pay even though there was wrong info written on my ticket.

  5. You can ask to have it amended, but you should have evidence, go to the spot where you were cited and take pictures of the area, if there is no construction. If there is, you may still be asses ed the full fine, because it was a construction zone.

  6. The officer can amend it in court prior to the trial.

  7. Yea, I bet the judge will just throw that one out.......

    NOT!!!
