Police plane I live in manchester?

I live in manchester and I see a police plane flying about a lot what are they used for? and we used to have a twin squirell helicopter and it was lowed and now we have a nidia 99 and that is not as loud anyone no why the india 99s are not as loud as twin squirells?

  1. The new planes are named Islanders, and in Manchester, Liverpool, Hampshire and some other places they are used for high speed chases that aren't possible for a helicopter to keep up with, yet not possible for a normal plane to be as slow as. Its a plane that can go very, very slow, but faster then most normal cars. About the helicopters - i don't know, they're not my strong point! :)


  2. they are most likely used as a highway patrol plane or can spot people in need of help.  

  3. its used 4 quick transport and or crew training.
