A day after Haider returned to Pakistan, police arrested book-makers in Sialkot and recovered 250 mobile phones satellite phones and other electronic devices along with weapons during raids. Police revealed that the arrested people belong to the group, who
were involved in threatening Haider.

Superintendent Police Investigation, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nasir-c78728 Qureshi, while talking to the media said that bookies belonged to a very big gang, and they threatened the police saying that they have contacts in very high places. Police also stated that they have traced out international
calls made from the telephones used by the bookies.
It was reported that police found the bookmakers secret rooms, hidden behind the wooden cupboards which they used for their illegal operations. According to media reports, the investigations are in progress and some serious charges are expected.
Last year, Haider suddenly left for the UK from the team’s hotel in Dubai, hours before the final One-Day International against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757. On reaching London, the runaway wicket-keeper revealed that he received death threats from the bookies to fix the
match. Haider, then sought asylum there, leaving his family in Pakistan. He also announced retirement from International cricket.

of his and his family’s security. Rehman also assured him that after reaching Pakistan, Haider’s post in the Zarai Taraqiati Bank would be restored.
After reaching Islamabad airport, the wicket-keeper received a warm welcome and was provided with proper security.
Haider then unveiled that he received death threats from an Indian. He indicated that Kamran Akmal’s father-in-law was also involved in gambling. He asked Pakistan authorities to investigate the matter.
Following his statement, Kamran’s father in-law issued a legal notice to Haider for levelling betting allegations against him. His lawyer, while talking to the media, said that his client had asked the former wicket-keeper to apologise within a week or pay
one hundred million rupees for stating unjustified allegations.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) dissolved his contract and formed a committee which will investigate the facts behind his departure. Former cricketer revealed that he was ready to face all the questions of national board and International Cricket Council.
