Arsene Wenger said, “I can rotate the goalkeepers – in the cups I sometimes play different ones, but Almunia has not played for a long, long time”.
Arsene Wenger also claimed that he is happy with Wojciech’ performance and wants his young Polish goalkeeper to keep performing well in the future.
“I like him as a man and as a player and I have shown that in my decisions”.
Moreover, Wojciech has also signed a new deal which will see him stay at the Emirates for five more years.
The 20-year-old goalie has appeared 9 times for the Gunners this season, has conceded 4 goals and has managed to keep 5 clean-sheets in all competitions.
Furthermore, Arsene Wenger also confirmed that no new signing would be made in this transfer window and claimed that he would not make rash decisions to sign a new player. The Gunners are without their two experienced centre backs, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thomas-Vermaelen-c35002 and Sebastien
Squillaci, and Arsene Wenger confirmed earlier at the start of this month that a new player could be signed.
Arsene Wenger stated, “I would not see it as a missed opportunity. I focus on my squad and I feel we have 22, 23 outfield players who can cope with what we need. Vermaelen looks to be making good progress, Squillaci is back available, so that was the only
position we were short, at centre-backs”.
The French manager added that he could not find the player which he desired and the Gunners would have to play with the same squad.
