Polish Open 2012: Janine Lais beats Rebeka Alekseviciute to storm into Women’s Singles main round
Austria’s Janine Lais put up staggering show of flawless badminton and stormed into Women’s Singles main round after crushing Rebeka Alekseviciute of Lithuania in qualifying round clash at the Polish Open 2012 in Poland, on Thursday, August 30.
The in-form Janine, who showed a strong performance in all matches in qualifying round, remained consistent on court and trounced Rebeka in a killing fashion without showing even a sight mercy.
The impressive Janine played to her maximum potential as she did not spare any chance for her rival to get familiar with the court conditions and easily finished off the match in straight sets with a killing margin in just 17 minutes.
On the contrary, Rebeka was shocked with such a cruel treatment on court as she completely failed to stop the aggression of her opponent and also could not put up strong resistance at any stage and lost the encounter without proving her worth.
Janine was just incredible in the opening rallies as she found a perfect start by executing powerful smashes in right areas and took no time in setting up a remarkable lead at the early stage.
In the meanwhile, the confused Lithuanian shuttler could not match the pace of rallies and she committed a few unforced errors and remained trailing behind on score board until the end of opening half.
After the one-minute break, Janine did not spare any opportunity for Rebeka to narrow the gap at any stage as she was at her best and easily ended up the opening set with a staggering 21-12 score on the board.
The following set was not different from the previous game as Janine again remained successful in taking an early lead without facing any trouble.
Janine was positive and confident on court and she took a wonderful lead until the one-minute break.
After the mid-game interval, Janine continued showing up her impressive craft as she took the bird early from all areas and eventually finished up the game with a crushing 21-10 score on the board.
The impressive Janine easily wrapped up victory in straight sets in just 17 minutes with a smashing margin of 21-12 and 21-10.
