Polish Open 2013: Simon Knutsson shows exit to Adam Sowa in Men’s Singles qualifying round
Sweden’s passionate shuttler Simon Knutsson showed a great performance in Men’s Singles qualifying round when he outplayed his local challenger Adam Sowa at the Polish Open 2013 in Warsaw, Poland, on Thursday, March 21.
The impressive Simon, who has been putting in an extra effort in training sessions, showed a great performance by taking the bird early from all areas and remained successful in winning the match in just 20 minutes.
Swedish player was on a different level in the arena as he played with smashing speed and remained successful in outplaying his challenger in straight sets with a completely commanding 21-10 and 21-14 score on the board.
In contrast, the local player could not find a good flow at any stage in the match as he failed to match the pace of rallies and eventually bowed down to his Swedish rival without winning any set.
It was a wonderful fight in the initial points when Simon showed a wonderful display of his craft on court and remained successful in taking a wonderful lead.
The incredible variations in Simon’s strokes helped him to push his challenger on the back foot and he maintained his superiority against his local opponent in the arena.
Swedish shuttler easily advanced with a terrific speed in the first part and remained miles ahead on the scoreboard until the end of the first half.
The underdog Sowa failed to make his home fans happy as he could not play positive badminton after the mid-game interval and remained struggling on court.
On the contrary, the positive and planned play of Simon assisted him to claim the opening game with a lopsided 21-10 total on the scoreboard.
Sowa put in extra effort to play tricky badminton in the starting half of second game but he again could not construct pressure on his Swedish challenger who was on a completely different level.
Simon was at the best of his form as he continued finding gaps in his rival’s court and remained successful in building a superb lead until the end of the first half.
In the concluding half of second game, the impressive Simon continued his comfortable ride and easily ended up the set by a superb 21-14 margin on the scoreboard.
