i told a polish girl that i like her, as in like to date her.

i was wondering wheather saying i like you means the same in polish as it does in english?

any help is appreciated

  1. Most likely NO. You need to be more direct in what your saying. Consider other countries have different meanings for these types of things.

  3. It's OK to say "Podobasz mi się" [Po-DOH-bash mee shay] - "I like you" or "Bardzo mi się podobasz" [Bard-zo mee shay Po-DOH-bash] - "I like you a lot!"

  4. I like you if translated directly into Polish is like saying "you are nice"  [nice character not look].

    It's just as saying I like going to the cinema or I like chocolate.

    I like you [the way you look] is podobasz mi się

    Don't say "pragnę cie' as someone suggested- that means I want you (sexually)

    Why don't you just ask her our 4 a drink? that is much easier to understand and while you have your drinks you can tell her what you think about her.
