Polish migrants suffering from gold rush syndrome?

Are people forming bad opinions of Polish because of their

'if i go here i can get more' attitude. I have no problem with any nation working hard but was there some 'streets are paved with gold' myth working its way through Polish cities for the past 3 years. They have certainly highlighted issues regarding the uk work ethic and the problems ourwelfare state has brough with it. But when polish start to return to poland because they 'get more money there' (Even the ones who said they were going to raise a family in the uk) is it any wonder that people may begin to think they are financially motivated, even greedy (i think the sheer numbers support this).Do people really think it is a kind of gold rush syndrome?

  1. All immigrants come here for the money. They don't come for the weather. When the money dries up they go. They're quite normal really. Only the British government kids itself that foriengers come here because they love us. Ha ha !!  Now the economy is turning down hello buy to letters. wave goodbye to your tenants and your investment !!  Idiots !!

  2. The very nature of mammals is to migrate to find greener pastures.

Since the beginning of human history the species has moved around to find more space, better living conditions and more food.

They say the first Homo-Erectus came from deepest Africa. How would you and your family have managed if our common ancestors had been turned away at the border? Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it, but that's exactly what you are suggesting in your recent questions and answers here on YA.

The English, Irish and Dutch and Spanish  made big colonies in the Amercias, without a second thought for the local inhabitants. The Brits in general waded into Australia when more land was needed.

The answer to your question is yes, that Polish migrants are suffering from Gold rush syndrome, as all humans, and indeed all mammals are and always have been.

If you're not happy, move on and look for something different, you can't go against human nature.

  3. Sort of. u can't blame the British worker all the time it's the system that's the problem and yes I think the polish are financially motivated after all there trying to feed there families I would do exactly the same if I were in there shoes. However, the British government has become so f*&^%ing soft that everyone walks over us.

I thought the European union was all about free trade and being a united states of europe should'nt they give real incentives to big business to invest and also introduce a mimimum "European wage" to stop this vast shifting of labour which is counter productive and long term harms the E economy relies on unsatstanable cheap/black market labour which distorts labour markets increases racial tension and eventually lead to war possibly.

  4. Reflect on what you would do for your family should you be in their position and try to be a little more human, you t**t.

  5. A Polish person stopped me in the Strand London, and asked for 10pence to get home,I said here is a pound take 9 more with you

  6. If you were educated in a country where the govt saw the benefits of teaching you another language from an early age - so that you were actually able to converse properly (not GCSE, I got GCSE grade c in French and can barely ask where the toilet is...) and, that same country had opportunities to live/work and improve your and your families' lives - would you go????

I think the TRUTHFUL answer to that by anyone trying to improve their lives - is yes!

Why don't you all stop targeting the Poles and start asking our govt why they are not educating us properly?

  7. Its geting crazy.  We can't accommodate the whole of the Eastern EU in the UK.

All thats happening is that the employment market is becoming more and more crowded and some people - particular the older or younger worker or the unskilled - are losing out.  But no doubt I'll be accused of being "racist" for pointing out this fact.

I feel very sorry that Polsh people can't earn a good living at home.  But I honestly fail to see how this is the problem of the UK.

  8. Of course it is. If they could earn the sort of money in Poland that they could over here do you really think they would have come over?

My local shop now stocks Polish beer (Which is very nice by the way) but won't stock beer made in a local brewery down the road. I am not anti-Polish, or anti-anyone else but I do think it's all about the money and nothing else.

  9. Funny you should ask that question. Brit thinks someone else is motivated by money??? For centuries you have sucked blood around the globe in name of the "profit"...Today your little empire is hiding behind the mighty army of USA....you still enjoy high standard of leaving due to money made on the backs of your slaves even though your economy is smaller than most in the G 8 nations. Leave the Polish people alone as they are gentle, kind, good-hearted and beautiful people.
