Most people agree on s*x education for children as there gonna face it sooner or later.

Then why not political education, i mean actual practices and views not historic text. Are'nt they gonna be voting citizens in the future !

  1. Because most teachers are liberals and as much as they indoctrinate students now imagine what they could do with a special class designed for it.

  2. That's kind of what Civics or American Government is supposed to teach. But these classes are usually not mandatory in HS; students get to choose, and most opt out of studying them.

I think that they should offer voter education just like s*x education. It's not teaching views, it's teaching the political process and how it works. Most people don't understand the Electoral College. They don't even know what a Caucus or Primary is. They don't understand voting.

  3. no they can be

  4. There are too many things that we think our kids are being taught and aren't.

Yes great idea.  Amongst many more.

If the teachers are going to get more pay then lets add a few more things for them to teach.

  5. Teaching views would mean indoctrination, not education.

Such things are commonly taught at the collegiate level where professors are allowed to teach personal opinion as fact. Such things have no place in primary school.

It is unfortunate that more young people arrive at college and still do not have the intellectual maturity to discern fact from opinion and filter out rhetoric.

  6. I thought there already was political education included in social studies requirements such as History and Government.  It should already be part of the course of study for an existing class rather than creating a new course requirement.

I agree that it is very important.

  7. Dear Brother, the fact is that rapes, molestations etc can be possibly a consequence of depriving the children of s*x education so we feel s*x education is necessary for children. The problem with political education is that, those deprived of it indulge into corruption but still some of the Indian Bureaucrats take pride and feel prestige in indulging in corruption so the consequence is that even if we raise alarms about the consequenses of lack of political education, it will still fall on the big and deaf ears of our politicians.
