Question:

Politics in schools? Why are there so many issues?

Why does there seem to be so many cliques and political issues within the schools. Has it just been the ones I have been to, or is it all round? Teachers talking about other teachers behind their backs, lying to parents about the severity of their child's difficulties in school. Teachers and administrators only repramending students who's parents dont help out in the school or who are not powerfull people within the community..

Why is it all so dramatic...is this why people home school their children?

  1. It is like that anywhere high populations of women and narcissistic people are. I coach a youth sports program and I see others rig homecoming, captains, refuse coaches their sister didn't like back in grade school. It all makes we want to be a hermit. I guessed that is just the way things are. I figured I have social skills problems, because it's so disturbing to me. I hear that in bigger city's you can sometimes find a group more like yourself. You'd think people with higher educations would have more class. I'd write an anonymous letter to the newspaper with no names. if the community gets upset, maybe those involved with be shamed into straightening up.

  2. ok. Let's take this a step at a time. cliques? have been around since MOSES!!! Political issues? Again, around since MOSES! If your school has a union, you have politics. If you have Dems and Reps in your school, you have politics. it is when the POLITICS is more important than EDUCATION that the trouble begins.

The schools (Teachers and administrators) truly have their hands tieds, but then again, they really don't do anything to help themselves. NCLB (NO Child Left Behind) has truly changed the dynamic in school. Instead of TEaching, they now spiel the information so you can pass the test. the Imagination is gone. The freedom of thought is limited. "We have to get this done and we don't have time to idle chatter".

Is this why they home school? No. It is a small part, but the biggest reason is protection. What i mean is protecting the child(ren) from drugs, peer pressure, s*x, etc.

NEWS FLASH.. Once they get out of that protected environment, WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO???

You have social inept students. yes, they may socialize within a controlled group *IE other home schoolers*, but bottom line is, they miss out on social interaction and, well, those demons.

I believe homeschoolers believe that they HAVE to protect their children. I say, if you teach your children right from wrong and believe in them, you shouldn't have to worry. It is when you start questioning yourself that you lose control

Simply put, Kids will be kids and I know my kids know the difference and how to stand up for themselves.

Homeschool kids may win Spelling Bees (whoop de doo) but, College life will eat them alive.

  3. With all the voting & political issues, going on in our churches,

How are they supposed to know what goes on in our schools.

  4. Yes that is why  *I* homeschool!

You wrote - lying to parents about the severity of their child's difficulties in school.

AMEN!! It's about TIME someone admitted that!!

I get thumbs down ALL the time when I try to tell people how bad schools are.

Gov't has gotten into education now, which is violating their OWN law about federal gov't is not to be involved in education.
