Poll: Are you interested in the Paranormal?

Personally I am captivated by it.

Though it is hard to argue against such reasoned responses as David's and nic's, I will go against such well-thought out arguments and say yes I am interested.  I think such interest is the sign of both a healthy curiosity and an open mind.

I think the case for paranormal activity is a sound one and has evidence.  That is more then can be said for some of the theories of modern cosmology.  I am not saying I don't keep an open mind regarding those matters as well, but that there is no proof for some of the theories that are being forwarded.  For example, the universe could not work without dark matter and dark energy.  Matter would not have formed without the aid of what physicists refer to as the god  particle (its exact name escapes me right now but I think it is the Higgs boson).  They hope to prove its existence with the aid of the new CERN atom smasher. Neutrinos, theoretical but no proof.  Parallel universes, Black holes evaporating, m-set theory.   A short time ago string theory was going to explain it all but 9 dimensions couldn't do it so it fell by the wayside, but at the time you weren't cool if you didn't get wood when you spoke about it.

In short, I do not dismiss these theoretical possibilities.  I have to much respect for the creative process of the universe, for the handiwork of God.

not really, i've never really witnessed anything out of the ordinary, or not enough so to be considered "not of this world" like some type of " He who walks behind the rows" type o' sh** (children of the corn reference)

So much. Me and my friend had experienced  it (talking with a supposedly priest when in fact he is not in that place at that time). My father, including the whole Parishioners were witnessed to the fact that that priest we talked to was with them during those time. It happened in Lagonoy Catholic Convent , Lagonoy, Camarines Sur, Philippines. Summer early 1990s.

Yes ive been interested in paranormal ever since i had my first experience when i was young.....and until now, and will have for many years to come.....Seems the older im getting the more intouch im becoming with it...but i dont let it run my life...its all about discovering the unknown, and expanding our knowledge......

Yeah. I don't think I'd be in the Paranormal Phenomena section if I wasn't interested it it.  :-)

I'm interested in many subjects, but ideas about stuff that's outside of everyday reality are some of the most interesting to me. I want to understand how things work, what makes people "tick" psychologically, and how a greater Reality that includes multiple dimensions, spirits and spiritual energies could work. I know most of this stuff can't be proven by the sciences we have now, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. If people believe similar things cross-culturally, I think that's an indication that some of it could be true.
