Poll: Early space travel vs.Climbing mount Everest.?

What do you think is more dangerous. Space travel back when it started? or climbing mount everest?

That is a difficult question to answer. They are both dangerous because you could blow up with the early space travel, but you could fall off mount Everest easily. I would have to say space travel, because when you are a novice, things tend to go wrong as opposed to the specially trained mountian climbers...

Ok, early space travle was pretty dangerus but i have to say everest wins

Hmmm, climbing Everest would definately be more dangerous. I base this simply on the amout of people who have died doing both things. Seven astronauts have died during our forays into space out of approximatelly 100 total. Everest kills at least 1 in 10 on assent and 2 in 10 on decent.

So by pure numbers, Everest wins.
