Depends - is it ink that is considered common? Like tribal - "everyone" has tribal.

And it really depends on the person, does the wearer of the ink feel confident in the artwork on their skin? Was the ink done by a decent artist? Is it in a position or place that compliments the wearer?

If one wants to look like a so called freak or draw much attention to their art, it is mostly about attitude. And that can be off putting. Or it can be attractive. It's really something that's all up in the air.

Ink when well cared for, done well, and of a complimentary nature to the ink-ee can be very beautiful. Its all just a personal choice. If you are looking into getting any artwork, then it is YOUR decision whether you want to risk possible negative attention - but this negative attention really has little to do with the ink in your skin, and more about how you wear it.

As an example, my roommate has a butterfly on her neck - in plain view. But instead of a 'common' style butterfly, she has something that is comprised of thin loops and whoorls and was made custom for her. She went to a reputable artist, and has never had anyting but positive feedback from it. Even from her father who has threatened hellfire and damnation for getting anything 'deviant' done to her body. Its how she wears it, the attitude she uses.

As another example, my ex's brother had some ink done. It looks terrible. It was something that he got as something of a lark and was positioned badly on him, and he wears it like "Yeah I got ink - I'm so d**n cool lookit me" so of course he gets all sorts of varying reactions.

All about whether the person likes it, whether they are ready to get it, and whether or not it is something that is appropriate for the wearer, and of course the quality of the artist.

Ink is NOT forever and hasn't been for nigh on 20 years. But removal is painful and costly. If any of that worries or gives the person pause who's thinking about getting the proceedure done: they shouldn't.

it really depends on what kind of tattoo it is.most of the time i think the tattoo is kinda hot.although theres some girls out there with super bad taste.and like when i see their tattoo i will be like...eeww what a stupid tattoo.

not hot. this is a trend that is so played. tattoo's have now lost all their  cachet. little girls sporting ink when they still lock themselves in their room crying if billy the paperboy dumps them. also, trying to appear deep with chinese symbols when they are not able to construct original thought. oly out.
